Liam Kenney - Supplemental Post #4

This week, after popping into my job on a day off to grab something, I spotted none other than Mac Demarco eating lunch at the restaurant next door. I unfortunately clearly stared a little too hard in my attempt to confirm if it was him or not (a lot of guys in Echo Park look JUST like him) and he stared back in a way that conveyed he did NOT want to be approached. I generally want to play it super safe when it comes to celebrity interaction, the last thing I want to do is get caught in a horrifically awkward situation where I’ve forced them into an encounter they don’t want to have which would ruin my perception of them (a long winded way of basically saying my fear of not meeting your ‘heroes’) I wanted to pitch to the class: When do you think it’s appropriate to say hello to a celebrity, I generally think pretty much anywhere BUT a restaurant seems like fair game, but I’d be curious to know if others in the class have a different way of thinking about celebrity interaction in public!
